It’s safe to say that the Land Down Under deserves all the hype that it gets. Australia is almost the same size as the United States, but has a population the size of New York State and some of the most unique wildlife on the planet.

A land of staggering contrasts and spectacular beauty, you can see land and scenery that look like something out of a movie. On the coast, there are vibrant multicultural cities, vast sand islands, ancient rainforests. And who can forget one of the planet’s most awe-inspiring sites in the Great Barrier Reef?

Travel to the Outback for rugged national parks and red-clay deserts that offer up something for the adventurer in every heart. Add in a laid-back feel and friendly people, and it’s no mystery why Australia tops so many people’s bucket lists.

When you book your trip with Sunset Travel & Cruise, you’ll get a personal travel agent who has experienced all that travel has to offer and can help you plan the perfect vacation to Australia from start to finish.

Martha Galvez provided the best travel service for me when I booked my trip to Montego Bay, Jamaica. I treated my niece to the trip for her 21st birthday. Martha took the time to hear my plans and ensured all my requests were fulfilled. She was in touch with the resort and upon our arrival there was a birthday banner on the door, a slice of birthday cake and a bottle of wine awaiting us. I didn't have to do anything but tell Martha what I wanted. I'm truly grateful for her service as my travel agent. Thank you again Sunset Travel & Cruise AND my agent Martha Galvez!

Ryan planned a wonderful trip for my husband and I to Italy. He chose hotels we never would have knew about and made the experience seem less and easy. The company uses a helpful app where all our travel data was easily accessible while we were on the road!
Highly Recommend Ryan and his company for all your travel needs.

Our travel agent Ryan Roman from Sunset Travel guided, coordinated and organized our dream wedding at Dreams Natura in Cancun Mexico on 10/26/24. My husband and I shopped around for an agent who could help us find exactly what we visioned as a destination wedding. He skillfully and patiently listened to our requests, followed through and delivered. Our wedding was amazing. From the location, to those who coordinated events and the staff who decorated and weighted on us hand and foot. It all turned out exactly how we wanted. Ryan took the time to understand what we wanted for our wedding. He communicated clearly, worked diligently with hotel staff, and responded in a timely manner with all my guests. I highly recommend Ryan for any future destination weddings or leisure traveling. We have kept in contact with him as we plan our future family vacation in April 2025.

Sydney Opera House

When you think of Sydney, Australia, the iconic image of the Opera House most likely comes to mind.

Shaped like huge shells or billowing sails, this famous building on Sydney’s Bennelong Point graces made the list of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites because it’s such an architectural icon.

With water surrounding the structure on three sides, and the Royal Botanic Gardens bordering it to the south, it’s truly stunning.

You can enjoy a performance there, enjoy the cuisine at one of the restaurants, or take a tour of the building, which encompasses theaters, studios, a concert hall, exhibition rooms, and a cinema.

Or you can enjoy it from a distance, one of the best sites to photograph the Opera House is from Mrs. Macquarie’s Chair in the Royal Botanic Gardens.

Regardless of what you choose, this is a must-see for every tourist. Call us to book your trip there!

Great Barrier Reef Marine Park

You can’t go to Australia without seeing the Great Barrier Reef – the wonder can be seen from outer space – and there’s no better place to see one of the oldest structures on the planet than at the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park.

The park was established to protect fragile ecosystems and is home to more than 3,000 coral reefs, 600 continental islands, 300 coral cays, and inshore mangrove islands.

It stretches along the state of Queensland for about 2,300 kilometers, roughly the distance between Mexico and Vancouver. The marine life is out of this world, and includes everything from soft and hard corals to more than 1,600 species of tropical fish, sharks, dugongs, dolphins, turtles, rays, and giant clams.

If you don’t want to go diving or snorkeling, you can take in the wonder through a glass-bottomed boat tour where you can remain dry – but most likely still amazed. Call us to book your entire adventure to Australia!

Sydney Harbour Bridge

Similar to the Sydney Opera House, this iconic landmark is one of Australia’s most famous tourist attractions.

This impressive feat of construction, affectionately called “the Coathanger,” is the largest steel arch bridge in the world. It rises 134 meters above the harbor and includes a bridge that spans 500 meters. It connects Sydney’s North Shore to the central business district, making transportation a relative breeze.

There’s the pedestrian path, two railway lines that extend over the bridge, and eight lanes for road traffic, and the direction of each lane can be switched to accommodate traffic flow.

If you’re planning a visit to Sydney, we suggest you book a guided tour to the top of the bridge where you’ll see views of the city and harbor that will take your breath away. Contact us to make it happen!

Melbourne

If you’re looking for culture, Australia’s second largest city will fit the bill.

This sophisticated city on the Yarra River offers up galleries, theaters, restaurants, shops, and a distinctly European feel.

It’s also a green city, meaning there’s a variety of parks, gardens, and open spaces occupying almost a third of its total area.

Your itinerary should include the Royal Botanic Gardens, Federation Square, the National Gallery of Victoria, and the Melbourne Cricket Ground – for cricket in the summer and Australian Rules football in the winter.

If you’re into shopping, be sure to check out Bourke Street, Chapel Street, the Melbourne Central Shopping Center, and the Queen Victoria Market – a century’s old market that offers up the freshest food around.

Bondi Beach

What do you get when you add in blond sand, bronzed bodies, and the world’s oldest surfing club? You get Bondi Beach, one of the most famous beaches in the world.

Take the train at Town Hall Station to hit the reliable morning surf and enjoy breakfast at one of the laid-back coastal cafes. Then relax on your board in the water at the end of the day to take in the one-of-a-kind sunset view. Never surfed before? No problem! You can learn to surf at one of the accredited surf schools – even if you’re a complete beginner!

If surfing isn’t your thing, it’s a hot spot for a simple picnic or seaside stroll along the scenic Bondi to Bronte coastal walk. That walk begins at the southern end of the beach and follows the coastline for six kilometers along sandstone cliffs, perfect for those looking to be a little bit active but still enjoying relaxation.

There’s no shortage of shops, cafes, and restaurants located conveniently across the street from this famous coastal strip. And you don’t want to miss out on the skate park, ocean pool, and the legendary Sunday markets.

Kakadu National Park

In the Top End or the Northern Territory, you’ll find a World Heritage Site and one of the planet’s great wilderness areas – Kakadu National Park.

At more than 19,840 square kilometers, Kakadu is the largest national park in Australia and the second largest in the world. Here you’ll find rivers, gorges, ancient rock paintings, monsoon rainforests, mangrove swamps, wetlands, waterfalls, and a diversity of wildlife you can’t find anywhere else.

Along with a plethora of mammals, reptiles, and fish, there are more than 300 different species of birds that make their home here. And be careful because both freshwater and saltwater crocodiles lurk in the wetlands.

Whether you want to explore the park’s diverse ecosystems by car, air, boat, or on foot via the vast network of hiking trails, it’s a must-see for every nature and wildlife enthusiast. Contact us to plan your entire trip, and make your next vacation a breeze!
