PRIVATE HORSE-DRAWN TRIP AND PICNIC IN THE VINEYARDS FROM PERUGIA

Your English-speaking driving escort will call at your hotel and take you to Di Filippo Wine Estate.

Here, get on your private horse-drawn carriage and start a tour through the estate, along the Sagrantino Route. Sagrantino is the region’s flagship vine, used since the 1500’s to produce primarily a sweet passito used as communion wine. Together with the passito, dry wine has been produced since the Seventies and, slowly but steadily, its name and its quality are becoming known beyond Italy’s borders.

During your tour, you will see draught horses treading amidst the vines and flocks of geese feeding on wild grass. All human activities are carried out with great commitment and deep respect for the natural relations between living beings, soil and climate that make this terroir unique, in the firm belief that natural processes must be watch and accompanied, but never forced or diverted.

A wine tasting and a picnic among the vineyards with organic and local cured meat and cheese will reinvigorate body and soul, and will be the perfect end to an ideal day.
